The hotel offers spotless and very comfortable rooms with a lovely modern bathroom, although a bit cold initially, the staff promptly provided a portable heater. The rooms are finished to a high standard but are pretty small. The service is warm and friendly, going above and beyond to assist guests, and the location is convenient for exploring Penicuik with lovely grounds. The dining experience, while somewhat inconsistent in portion sizes, is promptly delivered by attentive staff. Overall, it's a great value for money with a few minor issues.
I had a delightful stay at the hotel. The rooms were of a very high standard in the new section of the building, offering peace despite the vibrant activities in the garden and busy bar. The bathroom was excellent. The service was exceptional, with the duty manager going above and beyond, and the location was picturesque and convenient. Although dining experiences varied, overall, it was a lovely experience.
